Deshaun Watson Suspended in 6 Games for Sexual Assault.
NFL Commissioner Sue L. Robinson has ordered a six-game suspension for Cleveland Browns quarterback DeShawn Watson without pay, the league confirmed to NPR on Monday.
The punishment came after 24 women accused Watson of sexual harassment, leading to a public trial and leaving the star quarterback out in 2021.
"The six-game suspension is the most severe penalty ever given to an NFL player for sexual misconduct," Robinson said in his ruling. NFL."
Deshaun Watson of the Cleveland Browns has settled 20 of 24 sexual assault charges.
The allegations against Watson come from some of the more than 60 massage therapists he worked with for 15 months, from late 2019 to winter 2021.
The NFL said it was "considering Judge Robinson's suspension for the game and will decide what to do next."
